This course is an introduction to the basic theories and concepts in the Political Science, including:
connection between everyday life with the political system; political systems, main ideologies and political cultures; the interaction of moral foundations with politics, the functioning of political institutions and organizations (state, political parties, etc.); processes of globalization and modernization, international relations and conflicts; the connection between politics and IT sphere; Kazakhstan’s profile in the framework of the studied discourses.
Related topics include interdisciplinary areas, such as sociology, economy, culturology, public policy, history and other social studies.
This course will offer an overview of current research in the field of political science, with an emphasis on theoretical studies in this field and on studies that focus on political situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main goals of this course are to help foster critical and creative thinking, equipping students with the analytical tools to approach the fundamental problems of political life in a rigorous and systematic manner and formation of political worldview.
