About This Course

Throughout this course, you will explore and learn about Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Students develop an understanding of the implications of technology in society and the ways ICT can help at home, work, and the wider world. There is an emphasis on developing lifelong skills, which are essential across the curriculum and their future career.

The course aims to master the basics of ICT.
Objectives of the course in respect of all professions: to familiarize students with the world of computer systems and information technology; to provide them with an understanding of the basic principles of computer systems, computer networks, cloud technologies, human-computer interaction, smart technologies, etc.; to teach students methods of solving various problems using computers and prepare them for the effective use of computer systems and information technologies in the future professional activity.

Requirements

Basic computer literacy. Students must have basic knowledge of computers at the user level.

Elvira Aitmukhanbetova is a senior lecturer at Astana IT University, Department of Software Engineering, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. She received her Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, United States. She has teaching experience of 4 years. She has presented several research papers in international journals. Her scientific interest is in the field of data science and mathematical modeling.
