Welcome to 3D Modeling – a comprehensive journey into the exciting world of three-dimensional digital art and design. This course is designed to transform complete beginners into confident 3D artists capable of creating professional-quality models, scenes, and animations.
Throughout this course, you'll master Blender, the industry-standard free and open-source 3D creation suite used by professionals at major studios including Disney, Netflix, and Ubisoft. You'll learn the complete 3D production pipeline from initial modeling through texturing, lighting, and final rendering. We'll cover fundamental concepts like vertices, edges, and faces, explore topology and form, and dive deep into materials, shading, and photorealistic rendering techniques.
The course is structured around hands-on projects that progressively build your skills. Starting with simple primitive shapes, you'll advance to complex character modeling, hard-surface design, and full scene composition. Each lecture combines theoretical understanding with practical exercises, ensuring you not only learn the "how" but also the "why" behind professional 3D workflows. You'll create a portfolio of work including product visualizations, architectural scenes, character models, and animated sequences.
Whether you're aspiring to work in the gaming industry, film visual effects, product visualization, or simply want to bring your creative ideas to life in three dimensions, this course provides the solid foundation you need. No prior 3D experience is required – just bring your creativity and dedication to learn!
Computer: A desktop or laptop computer with at least 8GB RAM (16GB recommended). Blender runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Graphics Card: A dedicated GPU is recommended but not required. NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards with at least 2GB VRAM will provide the best experience, especially for real-time rendering and viewport performance.
Software: You'll need to download and install Blender 4.0 or later (free and open-source). We'll guide you through the installation process in the first lecture.
Storage: At least 5GB of free disk space for Blender, project files, and rendered images/animations.
No 3D experience required! This course is designed for complete beginners. We start from scratch and build your skills progressively.
Basic computer literacy: You should be comfortable navigating your operating system, installing software, and managing files and folders.
Dedication to practice: While we provide comprehensive instruction, mastering 3D modeling requires hands-on practice. Plan to spend 4-6 hours per week on lectures and exercises.
• A three-button mouse (recommended for easier navigation in Blender)
• Drawing tablet (optional, useful for sculpting modules)
• Basic understanding of art principles (composition, color theory) – we'll cover essentials as needed
