About This Course

The course introduces students to software packages and editors that work with 3D object animation. Animation is applicable in various fields of media technologies, and students will gain skills in working with motion animation, animation of characters for cartoons and computer games, understanding of animating objects in a 3D environment.

Course Learning Goals

  • Technical Animation Proficiency: Equip students with the core technical skills of 3D animation, including rigging, keyframe workflows, character performance, facial animation, physics simulation, motion capture, and real-time game animation.
  • Artistic and Creative Development: Cultivate an understanding of animation principles, acting, timing, and visual storytelling that enables students to produce expressive, emotionally engaging character performances.
  • Industry Readiness: Prepare students for professional environments by teaching studio pipeline workflows, collaboration practices, review processes, demo-reel construction, and career development strategies.
  • Adaptability to Emerging Technologies: Develop awareness of AI, machine learning, VR/AR, and other emerging tools that are reshaping animation workflows, fostering a mindset of continuous learning and technological adaptability.
  • Collaborative and Self-Directed Learning: Foster independent problem-solving and self-study habits while building teamwork, communication, and project management skills through collaborative group projects.

Yes, Blender runs on modest hardware. While a more powerful computer provides better performance, you can learn with 8GB RAM and integrated graphics.
